Biocultural Conservation in East Maui

Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club Lecture

Saturday, November 4, 2017 – 5:00pm to 8:00pm

Experience the biocultural wonders of Polynesia at Kahanu Garden. Canoe plants, native plants, hala forest and Pi’ilanihale Heiau.

Mike Opgenorth,  Director of National Tropical Botanical Garden’s Kahanu Garden will speak about Biocultural Conservation efforts at Kahanu Garden at the Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club meeting on Saturday, November 4. His focus is to develop ecological balance within the Hawaiian Islands and manage projects to increase awareness of natural and cultural resources to promote the role they play in everyday life.

Please bring a potluck dish to share. Potluck begins at 5:00 p.m., lecture begins at 6:30 p.m. Guests and non-members are welcome with a $3 clubhouse donation fee. Please RSVP to entertainment@htmclub.org. Clubhouse is located at 41-023 Puuone Street in Waimanalo, HI.
