Kahanu Garden & Preserve is excited to host the 2025 ʻUlu Cook-off as part of the ʻĀina X Kai Food Cook-off in Hāna, Maui! The ʻUlu Cook-Off is a friendly competition showcasing creative and flavorful dishes that highlight the versatility of ʻulu, or breadfruit.
Local residents will submit their ʻulu entries in one of the following categories: appetizer, entrée, or dessert. Awards are determined by a designated chef for Chef’s Choice Awards and by attendees for People’s Choice Awards.
In addition to ʻulu, this year’s ʻĀina X Kai Food Cook-Off will also include competitions featuring maiʻa, pohole, and poke.
