Join us for a hands-on workshop to learn how to grow Hawaiian varieties of ʻuala (sweet potato) using container gardening methods!

Historically, ʻuala was a vital food source, especially in the drier regions of the islands. Through generations of cultivation, Hawaiian mahiʻai developed many varieties, offering a wealth of options for different growing conditions and resilience against environmental changes.

Led by Mike DeMotta, retired Curator of Living Collections at NTBG, this workshop will equip you with practical skills to perpetuate these Hawaiian varieties of ʻuala right in your own backyard.

This workshop is free of charge. Registration is required.
