Join us at The Kampong for a Foraged Ikebana workshop led by Janae of Plant Psyche, a botanical artist whose practice centers on ecology and sustainable design.
We’ll begin with an introduction to the fundamentals of Ikebana and ecologicaly mindful approaches to botanical design. From there, we’ll take a guided walk through the garden, where participants will forage flowers, foliage, and branches from designated plants growing throughout the property.
After the walk, we’ll come back together for a free flow session. Participants can experiment intuitively with their gathered materials, with guidance from Janae available throughout. Returning participants familiar with our foraging guidelines may skip the introduction and begin foraging independently after checking in.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A BRING YOUR OWN VESSEL WORKSHOP
Vessels should be no larger than 10″ × 10″ Participants who do not have a vessel or kenzan can purchase a selection on the day of the workshop. Clippers will be provided.
