After 10 years of work documenting 27 of Florida’s cultural landscapes, Rocco Ceo and Joanna Lombard launched the award-winning book, Historic Landscapes of Florida. In partnership with Florida Humanities, an exhibition of the drawings that traversed the state of Florida highlighting the unique mode of drawing developed for archiving the landscape that enhanced the understanding and awareness of these iconic, and in some cases, threatened landscapes for Floridians to cherish. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the publication of the book and the inaugural exhibition of the drawings at the Deering Estate in September 2001, Ceo and Lombard are launching an open-access digital edition to make the work more publicly accessible. Renowned landscape architect, theorist, and educator Rosetta S. Elkin, founder of Practice Landscape, will join Rocco and Joanna in a conversation on the role of the cultural landscape, current conditions, and future impacts.
Free for NTBG Members, $10 for non-members.
