Crochet Therapy: Relaxation and Creativity workshop with Alejandra Libertad Cadenas

October 7 through October 28, 2023 | 1:00 to 3:00 p.m..

Throughout the one-month crochet workshop, participants will receive hands-on guidance, and materials for each class will be provided in advance. The focus will be on building essential crochet skills and completing a special project that allows participants to practice and apply their newfound knowledge.

Week 1 (Saturday, October 7, 2023): Crochet Basics and Getting Started

• Introduction to crochet tools and materials
• Learning basic crochet stitches (chain, single crochet, double crochet)
• Practice making a simple crochet chain

Week 2 (Saturday, October 14, 2023): Building on the Basics

• Review of previous stitches
• Learning new stitches (half-double crochet, treble crochet, etc.)
• Doing a little project (square, basic scarf)

Week 3 (Saturday, October 21, 2023): Crocheting in the Round

• Introduction to crocheting in the round
• Working with different shapes (circles, squares, hexagons)
• Creating a small amigurumi project

Week 4 (Saturday, October 28, 2023): Final Project

• Understanding increasing and decreasing
• Final touches, seaming, and finishing
• Showcase and share completed projects

For ages 12 and up. Space is limited to 8 people.

Rates are $180 for non-members and $160 for NTBG Members.
