Plant Description:
Fruits oblong (18.5x12 cn) with 8 cm stalk deeply inserted into slightly raised and elongated sections. Slightly rough with a small, hard point on flattened sections. Lighter center area around a dark stigma dot. Yellow when mature. Yellow flesh with 12 cm core, no latex or discoloration when cut. Many tiny aborted ovules. Leaves deeply dissected to midrib with four pairs of widely separated lobes with undulate or slightly serrated margins. Dark, dull blade with green veins. Profuse hairs on all surfaces: blades, veins, petiole, leaf sheath, and peduncle. Leaves more serrated and deeply cut than Ragone 293. Fruit is similar, but Ragone 293 is shorter with white flesh.

Ethnobotany - Main cultivar on Ulithi. Very tasty fruit, but stringy texture so it is boiled, pounded and mixed with coconut oil/sugar.
