Kokee State Park. Proposed DOFAW nursery site, mile 17, Hwy 550. Surrounding site first cleared in early 1940s.
Plant Description:
Shrub of 8 ft.; leaves glossy dark green above with yellow-green midvein, below dull pale green with raised whitish-green midrib; buds dull medium green; flowers: corolla pale green, with spicy odour (9am); fruit with anise odour when bruised. Some inflorescences with at least 6 buds.

Metrosideros dominated wet forest
