Physicians’ Course at The Kampong
Opportunity to connect traditional medicine with ethnobotany


Coconut Grove, FL – Now in its eleventh year, the annual Physicians’ Course is scheduled for February 11 – 13, 2010 at The Kampong. Participants cover the basics in medical botany, ethnobotanical approaches to new drug discovery, plant origins of pharmaceutical products, case studies of common herbs, and basics in botany and plant identification. The Physicians course has been accredited by the Florida Medical Association and qualifies for 13.75 hours in Category 1 credit towards the AMA physician’s recognition award. The course is geared for physicians and other health care professionals (practicing or retired).

Guest speakers include Medical Professors from the University of Miami Medical School, Neurology, Cardiology, Family Practice, Ph.D. Ethnobotanists, and Professors in Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Sciences from the University of British Columbia.
