Mother’s Day Open House
at the National Tropical Botanical Garden

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Kalāheo, Kaua`i, Hawai`i (April 26, 2011) – Once again this year, the National Tropical Botanical Garden (NTBG) is offering moms on Kaua`i the chance to enjoy a day out with their families in NTBG’s Allerton Garden on Sunday, May 8. Visitors travel thousands of miles just to enjoy the beauty of this garden. Why not see what they’re all talking about and enjoy the same serenity with Mom on her special day?

Free self-guided tours are being offered. Trams depart from the Southshore Visitors Center beginning at 9:30 a.m. and will run continuously on a first-come, first-served basis, accepting the last person in line at 1 p.m. Enjoy Po`ipū’s stunning scenery and a breathtaking view of Allerton Garden from a former sugar cane train railbed before strolling through the garden with its artistic waterways, fountains, pools, and outdoor “rooms.”

After exploring the dramatic setting of this masterpiece of landscape design and beauty, return to the Visitors Center with its 10 acres of display gardens, with flower beds, rare and unusual trees, and treasured plants of Hawai`i. Enjoy relaxing with family and friends and check out the gift shop to find that something special for the number one lady in your life.

Mom will also enjoy a plant sale, oshibana crafts, entertainment, and more. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a reusable bottle water. Don’t miss out on this special family event. This year you can surprise Mom and create beautiful memories at NTBG’s free Mother’s Day Open House.
