Beginning January 13, 2013 the “Plant Doctor” will be at NTBG’s Southshore Visitors Center every Sunday through April 14 from 2-4 p.m. Plant pathologist Dr. Bob Nyvall will gladly diagnose what ails your plant and recommend treatment.
Please bring with you a sample of leaves and flowers representative of the plant and its problem. This is a walk-in service, first come, first served.

'Ohana Day Events are held on the third Sunday of each month at the Southshore Visitors Center.
This month’s 'Ohana Day Event is not one, but two interesting offerings:
- Learn new drawing techniques with Hawai'i nature artist Patrick Ching in a workshop from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (some projects require a $10 fee)
- Enjoy free hula demonstrations by two hula hālau (Pua Ali'i Ilima and Hui Hula O Kehaulani) from 11 a.m.-Noon ***Event Day Update - Hula demonstrations rained out***

Rock, who famously botanized in Hawai'i in the early 20th century, was also a leader in documenting the cultures and languages of southwest China in the 1920-30s. Join NTBG Director Chipper Wichman for a thought-provoking introduction about botanical explorers and Joseph Rock's role in documenting plants and people around the world.
This event is sponsored by the National Tropical Botanical Garden and Kaua'i Community College as part of its "Around the World of Plants" public lecture series.
NTBG and KCC share a common goal of quality education to truly change lives.
