"Following the Steps of David Fairchild in the Canary Islands"
by educator and plant researcher Dr. Javier Francisco-Ortega
Fairchild's pioneering expeditions yielded a wealth of new information, including 73 new species and 7 publications. At the time, these trips represented the most extensive plant field trips ever undertaken by U.S. botanists in the archipelago.
