This is a unique opportunity to attend one-of-a-kind workshops through a combination of your membership in the Garden and volunteer hours.

Garden Connections is a special offering for NTBG members. If you are not a member, sign up today. You then "pay" for classes with a special form of currency -- volunteer hours.

Cacao to Chocolate: A Workshop in Chocolate Making
Register by August 1, 2007

When: Friday, August 17 12:30-4:30 p.m.
Where: McBryde Garden, Southshore Kaua`i


What if chocolate could grow on trees? Sounds too good (or delicious) to be true? Think again. An important ingredient used to make chocolate DOES GROW ON TREES -- the cacao bean. We will guide you through the process of producing chocolate from the cacao bean, the end result...a sweet reward.

Volunteer Project: We will tend to ethnobotanical plants (that play significant roles in Hawaiian culture) in the Canoe Garden from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
