Special Announcement, 03/24/2010
This April, on or around Earth Day (April 22), PBS will broadcast A Sense of Wonder, a film based on the life and work of scientist, writer, and activist Rachel Carson, author of the 1962 environmental groundbreaking book Silent Spring.

The 55-minute documentary-style film depicts the successes and struggles of Carson who has been lauded as the “patron saint” of modern environmentalism. Carson’s role is played by award-winning playwright and actress Kailulani Lee, a 1999 graduate of NTBG’s Environmental Journalism Fellowship program.

Lee, who wrote the play on which the film is based
, has brought Carson’s environmental message to untold thousands during a 150-city tour and in international performances with the upcoming PBS broadcast sure to inspire new audiences at home and abroad.
