Geographic Origin of Accession: French Polynesia
Locality: Marquesas: Nuku Hiva
Notes: Preferred variety. Easy to cook. There is also a white type with harder flesh and takes longer to cook. Hard-to-cook varieties can be beaten with a stick after harvest, left 1-2 days to soften, then cooked.
