Geographic Origin of Accession: French Polynesia
Locality: Marquesas: Nuku Hiva
Notes: Name means "shark's thorax." Fruit is hard to cook. Prick with a piece of wood to soften before cooking. This is an old variety of breadfruit, grows in Hatiheu and Aakapa.
