Geographic Origin of Accession: Federated States of Micronesia
Locality: Pohnpei
Other Names: Butaktak, Betaaktak
Distribution: Pohnpei, Kosrae, Marshall Islands, Kiribati and elsewhere in Micronesia.
Notes: The pale yellow flesh of this hybrid variety is not densely fused and is relatively light-weight for its size. The fruit is usually baked or roasted and has a soft, creamy texture when cooked. Heavy producer. Typical atoll variety and does well in sandy soils of coastal regions. Also does well in volcanic and other soils.
