Geographic Origin of Accession: Tokelau
Locality: Nukunonu
Notes: Grown from seed. Most common type of breadfruit in Tokelau. Very popular because it has fewer seeds than Ulu elise (Artocarpus mariannensis) and is considered to be easier to manage and fast growing. Originally introduced from Samoa. The seeds do not produce true to type, and produce the many "ulu afa" trees in Tokelau. Is vegetatively propagated by root cuttings or air layers.
