NTBG Major Gifts Officer

Based on U.S. Mainland

National Tropical Botanical Garden is now accepting resumés for the position of Major Gifts Officer. This individual will be based on the mainland and play an important role in the cultivation and solicitation of prospective campaign donors.

S/he will also work closely with the development team to provide guidance about effective identification and solicitation strategies for prospective donors who reside on the mainland. A strong relationship builder, the Major Gifts Officer will represent the National Tropical Botanical Garden well as s/he reaches out to donors.

Working from home, this individual will report to the Director of Philanthropy and will work closely with the Garden’s Director and CEO as well as its volunteer leadership.

Gardener - based at Kahanu Garden and Preserve

East shore, Maui, Hawai`i; full time

We are now accepting applications for a Gardener I at NTBG’s Maui location. Salary and benefits package apply. This entry-level position will be responsible for horticulture, and grounds and facilities maintenance.

Duties include monitoring plant health, irrigation, pest control, planting, weeding, grass cutting, facilities and equipment maintenance, and other duties to maintain the garden, its collections, and facilities.

Must have experience in horticulture or grounds maintenance with hands-on experience operating a weedeater, blower, and chainsaw. Previous hands-on experience in any of the following considered a plus: growing native Hawaiian plants, Integrated Pest Management, tree trimming, heavy equipment operation, carpentry, and painting.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
